WHO ARE WE...??

Our Purpose:​

• To perpetuate the common sense use and enjoyment of horses in America’s back country, wilderness areas, National and State Parks.
• To work to insure that public lands remain open to recreational stock use.
• To assist the various government, state, BCHA affiliates and private agencies in their development, maintenance and management of these areas.
• To educate, encourage, and solicit active participation in the wise use of the back country resources by stock users and the general public commensurate with our American heritage.
• To foster and encourage the formation of new BCHA organizations.

The Back Country Horsemen of NC is our state organization of the Back Country Horsemen of America. The BCHA is the major advocate in the United States for public land use by horsemen.

The Back Country Horsemen of Uwharrie partners with the US Forest Service to help maintain the horse trails in the Uwharrie National Forest located in the Central Piedmont of North Carolina.
Maintainence and Improvements are constantly needed to sustain our ability to continue to ride these amazing trails.
